Following
Following is the four things an account keeps a subscription to. Works, Writers, Lists and Tags, one tab each. Nothing here is ranked or chosen for you: each tab is what you followed, in the order the server holds it.
Works carries the chapter each work ends on and an unread mark. The mark stands where the work has moved on since you last said where you were in it, which the reader reports as you read. Open work goes to the reader; Unfollow drops the row.
Writers carries the display name and the username of everybody you follow. Open profile goes to their public page; Unfollow drops the row.
Lists is in two halves. My lists holds the lists you own and the lists somebody else owns and added you to as a collaborator; each shows its visibility, the part you hold in it, and the works inside. Subscribed lists holds the public lists you follow, read only, with the name of the owner and an Unsubscribe.
Who may change a list. The owner and the collaborators the owner added can add works, take them out, order them and rename the list. Nobody else can. The visibility and the collaborators are the owner’s alone, and so is deleting it.
A list is private or public. A private one is visible to its owner and its collaborators alone. Any account keeps private lists; publishing one as public is sold, and the checkbox shows the lock and its reason to a free account.
Create list takes a name and a visibility. It lands under My lists, and Save to a reading list anywhere else in the application saves into one of them.
Tags carries every tag you follow with the works published since you followed it. Open tag opens Community with that tag on the filter bar; Unfollow drops the row.
Try: follow a tag from the Community screen, then open Following, Tags. The row counts the works carrying that tag published after the day you followed it, which is why a tag followed today usually counts none.
